The Netherlands Enterprise Agency presented the Smart Farming Guide to international ambassadors and business representatives on February 3, 2026. The guide features 50 Dutch organizations working in open-field agricultural technology.
The publication covers seven categories: precision agriculture, sustainable water and nutrient management, advanced machinery, IoT and smart sensors, data-driven crop production, AI and cloud platforms, and automation and robotics. Fourteen government agencies, development organizations, and trade bodies helped develop the guide.
The guide positions Dutch agricultural expertise for countries facing similar challenges with limited land, high water tables, and environmental constraints. Open-field agriculture represents most global agricultural land.
Annemieke Broesterhuizen, RVO Managing Director, presented the guide to Rogier van Tooren from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The timing’s strategic. The Netherlands wants to establish international partnerships before other nations make their move on agricultural technology leadership.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs worked with the Ministry of Agriculture on this. Company profiles sit next to government endorsement. This combination tends to reduce perceived risk when countries consider adopting foreign technology.
Dutch diplomatic channels are distributing the guide now.
