Paprika closed all 21 of its Dutch stores. The Belgian plus-size fashion brand broke the news with signs on store doors, citing market conditions and a commitment to quality.
“In a market disrupted by ultra-fast fashion, Paprika reaffirms its commitment to quality, sustainability, and service,” the signs read. The online store stays open.
Employees learned of the closures abruptly. The brand also withdrew from Germany, with all 12 German boutiques removed from its website.
Paprika went through bankruptcy proceedings in 2024. Luxembourg investment fund Futura Capital Fund acquired the company. At the time, three Dutch stores and 23 Belgian locations had already closed.
The brand describes the move as an adaptation to changing market conditions. The focus now shifts to digital operations and select physical locations in Belgium.
The company says this will help maintain the brand’s stated values.
