Ukraine Keeps Organic Exports to EU Flowing During Conflict

Data from the International Conference “Organic Export Vision: Ukraine 2026” shows Ukrainian organic exports holding steady. Europe gets 93% of shipments, with 84% landing in EU countries. The conference brought together 197 participants, Ukrainian exporters and international buyers.

The Netherlands imports nearly 50% of all Ukrainian organic exports. Grains and soybeans make up most of the volume, spread across 250 importing companies.

Ukraine has 436 certified organic operators managing about 350,000 hectares. They pull in $141 million in export value from 243,000 tons of products. The product range has grown beyond bulk commodities. Frozen berries, honey, and medicinal raw materials push the total past 90 items.

The domestic organic market in Ukraine sits at $30 million. One-third comes from imports: wine, plant-based milk, and baby food from 24 countries. Small numbers compared to what leaves the country.

Moldova has ramped up purchases. Middle Eastern markets have entered the picture. The Emirates and Saudi Arabia provide new channels. Products reach 30 to 35 countries total.

The focus stays on keeping relationships with existing importers strong. This keeps the sector stable.
